Oh, love and Aloha wait me, land where oceans are crystal green. Flying over the great Pacific, leaving mainland behind… Oh, love and Aloha wait me, land where oceans are crystal green. The Spirit calls and she greets me warmly; comfort and peace of mind. Oh, peace and Aloha wait me. A dreamlike scene is always seen. Rest my bones on a sun-drenched sand scene. Oceans glow ever crystal green

A welcome to the little island of the perfect place to really fall in love. Now if you’ve never been around before, I hope that you can get a little more. Aloha goes to all of those who came. I ‘pologize if I forget your name. But won’t you now lend a little hand to the Half Hawaii Ukulele Band. O.K… We hope you all received your local lei. We hope you all enjoy your little stay. The Ukulele Band is gonna play just like they do it every single day. Clouds roll in this time each day

Angela and me on the Waikiki. What a sight to see! Oh wa, ah oh. It’s summer everyday, the summer’s here to stay. Walkin’ every day on the Hanauma bay. Soakin’ in the rays, oh wa ah oh. Some are here to play and some are here to stay, oh wa ah oh. My baby and me on the Waikiki, what a sight to see! oh wa ah oh. It’s summer everyday. Summer’s here to stay! Oh wa ah oh.

All the thieves of Kailua broke the handle and stole my camera. Hanging photos of me an’ Angela on the walls of their cabanas. Those old thieves of Kailua, I’ve seen smarter, there’ve been smoother Taking things they don’t belong to from the tourists of Oahu. …all of the sudden the thieves are on their getaway… (Hear the sirens wail far away.) All of the sadness; they took my baby’s bag away. (Call the island gun!) Sister’s anger, brother’s mellow. Short with slight build, younger fellow. And I know I look like the purist tourist, look at my skin so white. To the thieves of the island: I ain’t no native, but that don’t make it right! I tell you the police, they ain’t much better despite their badges of blue. They take a’me number, my name and they slumber on the beaches of ocean blue. All the thieves of Kailua, I’ve seen smarter and there’ve been smoother. Gods are wonderin’, “Where’d the love go?” Thieves be runnin. Where’d that thug go? Oh, dreams come true though. The thieves got caught and put away. Now I live to say… Got my camera, got my Angela. Thieves got nothin’ cuz we outran ya. Everywhere we go is love for you and me to live and die for!

Livin’ in heaven away from it all, you got a picture perfect view ‘round every bend. 80 degrees and it rains everyday, you’re livin’ lovely all your woes are on the mend. J: All there’s time to do is sit and dream of her. A: and I’ll dream of him too J: Two are sharing one and under setting sun. Oh I, I’m fallin’ in love! I found me a goldmine on this sunny morn and I been looking since the day that I was born. You getcha some love. If it get’s taken away, I say “why don’t you go right out and get some more!” J: All I want to do is sit and think of her A: and I’ll think of him too J: Two are sharing one and under setting sun. Oh I, I’m fallin’ in love! And all I really wanna say, is getcha some love today. Oh I, I’m fallin’ in love!

Hey ya’ll. Age is in ya head! You save up all you pennies ‘til the day ye dead. Hey ya’ll. Life is for the takin’! Me say it real loud so they’ll be no mistakin’. Parts are warm parts are cold. Hearts are torn between young and old. With a gang of cheers and the joy of tears, youth she finds me despite my years. I was told one time by a friend of mine who had a little scuffle with the Father Time, “Please don’t mind, you’re doin’ just fine. Like a lemon or a lime you’re ripe on the vine.” A scary little story ‘bout a boy named Jack. He grew up too quick and now he won’t come back. We tried to find him but guess what we found? His mind was six feet under de’ ground.

Yeah man, I’ll play you a song. travel all roun the world Me travel left to right. Me see a lot of sight. Me fly around the world, Me meet a lot of girl. Of all the little lady that come and sit next to me. Oh you the only lady that do what just you do me. Me go out on the town. Me jump and play around. Me listen to the sound. Me act just like a clown. When time to rest my head down, me say this now quite truly. Oh you the only baby that do what just you do me.

We’ve traveled all this way, so I might as well stay right here with you little darlin’. It breaks my heart to say, “lets pack and go away” from here with you little darlin’. You and I alone, can we make waste of our cell phones? No more dial tones! Can we make this palm tree our home? Hawaii, She called me across ocean blue. She told me I’m best off to stay here with you. I guess I’ll start a band. We’ll play here in the sand so we can walk to the ocean. And you can tie up bows and sew us island clothes so we can dance loco-motion. I can call my mom. She can help decorate our palm. You can call your dad. Ask him to build our bamboo pad. Hawaii, She called me across ocean blue. She told me I’m best off to stay here with you.

The Earth, She rejoices when heavens cry rain. Uwe ka lani ola ka honoa. “I tell you you’re best off to stay here with her.”

I took a boat on the ocean breeze, I didn’t wait for a minute. I took a splash in the ocean of green. And on the boat were all of my friends, we had the time of a lifetime. No stops ‘til the good times end. I’ll take a little bit of sunshine and a little bit of shade. And give a little bit of love to all the friends we made. I’ll take a little bit of sea-spray and a fishin’ in the sea. And give a little bit of love to all the friends we meet. He had a girl and she did him all wrong so he fell back on a brother. And that’s why we’re singin’ this song. And now the time, no, it won’t be long. Ya bounce back, find another, and join hands just singin’ along. I’ll take a little bit of sunshine and a little bit of heart. And give a little bit of love for all the dreams we start. I’ll take a little bit of sea-spray and a fishin’ in the sea. And give a little bit of love to all the friends we meet. I took a boat on the ocean breeze, I didn’t wait for a minute…

Aloha

There is a spirit or vibe or soul or maybe just a weather condition or virus or all of it that entered me in my journey to Oahu in the summer of 2003. Perhaps it’s just the air there or the green, warm salt water. Perhaps the sun burned permanent marks on my brain that live now only as vivid images in my head and in these songs. The spirit is playful and more giving than you can imagine. The spirit is also unchanging, stubborn and powerful, old and in control. The spirit wants your love and does as it wishes. The spirit lures and pleases. I’m thankful that it entered me and have this music to show for it. I thank my lucky stars.

Much of the work and development of this album took place in the brain and in the ears with much thanks to: a trip or two to Hawaii, VDP, BW, Pete, Jon e. Rock, Noah, Shane and Josh O… all never-ceasing inspiration fountains. To be blessed with life-long-love only makes me obligated to share my love and harmony with everyone that could possible feel it. For that love, I thank my family, Angela and the above non-acronymed brothers. I can’t believe this album has reached your hands wherever you may be, although I may have known it all along. Thanks for joining me on this great journey! Love, Jason
